Boy, 12, Dies; Injured In Milk-Truck Crash

A milk-truck accident that killed a driver last Friday resulted in the death last night of a 12-year-old Eminence boy who was riding along as the driver's helper.

Roy Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Wilson, died at 7:45 p.m. at General Hospital.

Deputy Coroner Harry Elstone said the boy suffered head and internal injuries when the milk truck crashed into a 30-inch tree on LaGrange Road near Anchorage.

Driver Killed Instantly

Gobel Berry, 28, driver of the truck, was killed instantly. The impact of the crash broke the truck in two and pinned both Berry and young Wilson inside the cab.

The boy's death with the eighth in Jefferson County traffic, outside Louisville, this year. The total at the time last year was 13.

The Wilson family lives on Eminence Route 2.

Gobel Berry, 28, Eminence, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday from injuries received in a truck accident. Berry, who operated an independent milk truck route was on his way to Louisville with a load of milk when his truck left the side of the road near Anchorage in Jefferson County and traveled 50 feet in a ditch before striking a tree.

Berry is survived by his wife: Mrs. Louise Wilson Berry; one son: Charles Berry, Eminence and his mother: Mrs. Charles Berry.
