ALDA — Marvin “Marv” Henrichs, 77, of Alda passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Chapel. The Rev. John Hays will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marv was born on June 3, 1939, in Ericson to John and Ella (Meese) Henrichs. He grew up in Ericson and attended District 74 School in Omaha. The family moved to Grand Island and he graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1957.
He was united in marriage to Janice Benke on June 6, 1959, in Omaha. The couple lived in various places, settling in Alda in 1978. He worked in sales for many companies, including Utility Equipment, National Pump and his final job at South Walmart in Grand Island. Marv liked to fish, hunt and mechanics.
He is survived by his wife, Janice of Alda; children, John Henrichs of Alda, Bill (Renae) Henrichs of Hastings, Vickie (Jim) Friedichsen of Grand Island and Dawn Henrichs of Alda; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters, Deana (Norman) Sherman of Rockville, Janice Kay Henrichs of Boelus and Karen Miller of Fremont; brother, John D. (Sharon) Henrichs of Englewood, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marv was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers and a nephew, Mark Sherman.
