She is survived by her son, Bruce Moore, Pictou; brothers, Ross (Patricia), Winnipeg; Jeff, Moncton; Harvey (Barb), Lyons Brook; sisters, Eleanor (John) Cameron, and Annabelle Munroe, both of Pictou; and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Nathan & Cassie (Clarke) MacPhail, her brothers, Sydney, Roy, and Walter; sisters, Patsy Moore, and Janet Horne-Munsie.
Joan had a long career in provincial civil service, working at the Children’s Training Center, Pictou until retirement. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force Women’s Association, and a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 16, Pictou. A lifelong member of St. James Anglican Church, Pictou, Joan was also a member of the Monarchist League of Canada.
Visitation was held 2-4, 7-9 PM on Wednesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service took place 11:00 AM Thursday from St. James Anglican Church, Pictou.
