Early in life, Arlene was employed at Suncrest in Wind Gap and the Nazareth Waste Mill. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Nazareth where she taught and served as Sunday School superintendent, and sang on the Senior Choir for over 40 years. Arlene loved creating beautiful ceramic figurines for every holiday and especially enjoyed sharing her crafts with her family.
She is survived by her son; Dennis Butz and his wife Carol, daughters; Lois Scott and husband George, and Linda Flamisch and husband William; 6 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren; as well as her sisters; Jean Lloyd, Shirley Lieberman and Gloria Decker. Along with her parents, Arlene was predeceased by sisters; Gladys Butz, Mildred Ruhf, Betty Bonney, June Andrew, Dorothy Neuner, Bernice Mann and Doris in infancy, and brothers; Harold, Robert, Stanley, William, Kenneth and John Schleicher and Walter in infancy.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, from 9:30-11 am, in St. John's UCC, 183 South Broad St., Nazareth where the funeral service will begin at 11 am. Arlene will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.
