Mary Shea was born at Houghton, Michigan on March 29, 1875 and passed away at the home of her sister, Mrs. Edgar martin July 20, 1936 after a brief illness aged 61 years.
In 1879 the family came by stagecoach to Butte, Montana residing there until 1887 when they moved to the Flathead Valley and located the Pat Shea homestead five miles north of Kalispell. Here Miss Shea grew to womanhood, receiving her education at Pine Grove School.
At the age of 21 she located a homestead in Tobacco Valley near Eureka, residing thereon for the greater part of her life, being associated with her brother in farming and stock raising.
Always devoted to her family, kind and charitable to her friends, she won a lasting place in the hearts of all who knew her.
Surviving relatives are her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Martin and four brothers, James, Dan, John and Mr. and Mrs. George Shea; 22 nieces and nephews; numerous relatives in Butte and Helena, and a host of friends throughout the state.
