He was born Dec. 8, 1937, at Fairfax, Mo. He spent most of his childhood at Liberty and attended Liberty Public School. He had been employed by the Farmers Cooperative in Blue Springs for 18 years until his retirement, and had been working part-time for the Co-op at Pickrell since his retirement. He had previously worked at the Liberty Elevator, for Liberty area farmers, at Dempster's and at Behrens Construction.
He married Loree Rix on Feb. 25, 1978, at Omaha.
He was a member of the Heartland Antique Tractor Pullers. His hobbies included tractors and tractor pulls, attending auctions, car races, fishing, hunting, driving through the countryside, and attending all sporting events.
Survivors: wife, Loree; sons, Joe Crouse and wife Dawn of Wymore, Billy Crouse Jr. of Cozad, Willy Crouse and fiancée Brandi Kempf of Odell, Randy Crouse of Blue Springs; daughters, Tammi Fegter and husband Richard of Grand Island, Tonya Voet and husband Mike of Oketo, Kan., Thomasena Laflin and husband Terry of Beatrice, Toree Lang and husband Travis of Blue Springs; grandchildren, Vanessa, Desiree, Chase, Derek, Megan, Talysha, Brandon, Ilene, Diamond, and Justin; brother, O.J. Crouse and wife Janette of Beatrice; sisters, Peggy Henrichs and husband George of Wymore, Delpha Riley and husband Edd of Carroll, Elmeda Arterburn and husband William of Beatrice; sister-in-law, Rose Morris of Omaha; nieces and nephews.

Funeral service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home, 505 N. Ninth St, Wymore, the Rev. Judith Dye of the Blue Springs and Wymore United Methodist Churches officiating. Burial: Liberty Cemetery. Visitation: 6 p.m. Monday until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial to St. Paul Lutheran School in Beatrice and the family's choice with the funeral home in charge.
