Funeral services for Aaron Smith were conducted in the Johnson Chapel Saturday afternoon by the Rev. R. N. Waldron, pastor of the Hungry Horse Assembly of God Church. Pallbearers were Paul Holmquist, Clarence Eayrs, G. A. Anderson, A. L. Shefferd, Gus Carlson and Taft Livingston. Interment was in Conrad Memorial cemetery.
Aaron V. Smith was born in Kansas Nov. 21, 1876 a son of Elias and Ida Delair Smith. In 1905 he was married to Gertrude Bennett and in 1917 they came to Kalispell from Idaho. He was employed for a number of years by the Great Northern Railway at Essex prior to his retirement.
He is survived by his wife Gertrude in Kalispell; seven daughters, Mrs. Addie Wold and Mrs. Fay Schmidt, both of Los Angeles; Mrs. Fern Shefferd, Kalispell; Mrs. Violet Caton and Mrs. Pamona Ellsworth, both of San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Ethel Perkins, Compton, Calif.; Mrs. Bonnie Land, North Hollywood, Calif.; two sons, Elmer Smith of Medford, Ore., and Harland Smith of Kalispell; 29 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, and one brother Clyde Smith of Cobalt, Idaho.
Mr. Smith died in a Kalispell hospital Wednesday morning June 26 at the age of 80 years.
