James is listed in the 1880 census for Stacyville, Maine as married to Annie E. b. 1847. Their children are listed as:
Lewis R born 1867
James E. born 1870 (later married Sadie Sibley 24 Dec 1892)
Inez R. born 1 Sep 1879

James and Annie Elizabeth Roundy went on to have Annie E. born 1878 and Lacey born 1884.

The book also states she and James had ten children before she died. Four of them died very young of diptheria and a drowning.

The family is next listed in the 1900 census for Passadumkeag.His first wife has died (1885) and he remarried
to Annie Cora Richardson born 1872. The children listed in their household were:

Her book also gave the ancestry of James as being Dudley family from Liverpool, England. Charles H. Dudley was a son of James Dudley who was born in Miramichi, New Brunswick Canada in 1789. Charles married Abigail Sibley and traveled in a bateau from Canada to Mattawamkeag where James Hunter Dudley was born in 1849.
