He died 23 Jan 1889 in Freestone County, Texas, and is buried in Red Cemetery, Freestone County, Texas (Memorial #41842965).
Ruth Turner Lansford married David "Dave" Chapman (her second husband) on 30 Aug 1891 in Freestone County, Texas. Her children with William Lansford and those children were mistakenly shown in the subsequent census records under the surname Chapman rather than Lansford which is the correct surname.
