Manville
Mrs. Stella F. Manville 78, of 223 S. Fillmore died at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Hospital in Alton, where she had been a patient for the last month.
She was an Edwardsville resident for the last 24 years and a former resident of Marine.
She was born on October 24, 1897, in Auburn, a daughter of the late Arthur K. and Anna Lewis Easley.
She was married to Lester H. Manville on April 1, 1919, in Springfield. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1968.
Survivors include sons Robert G. Manville of Edwardsville, Bill Manville and James Manville, both of Highland, Roger Manville of Florissant, Mo., and Arthur Manville of Chino, Calif.
Also surviving are daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Myra) Colcun of Fontana, Calif., and Mrs. Della May Cabbage of St. Jacob, 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Brothers, Robert Easley and Ralph Easley, both of Springfield, and sisters, Mrs. Karl Gowin of Mechanicsburg, and Mrs. Hazel Williams of Athens also survive. Two sisters, one brother, and one granddaughter preceded her in death.
Mrs. Manville was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW No. 1299 in Edwardsville, and the First Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Friday in the Weber Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.
