He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara; his children and grandsons: Shelly and Doug Baas (Ted and Will), Brent and Tami Kroll and Matt Kroll; step-children and step-grandchildren: Jeffrey and Julie Gaberdiel (Emilie, Alexandra and Colton), David and Valarie Gaberdiel (Courtney and Jake), Kristin and Jimmy DeGroot (Lauren, Dakota and Lily); sisters: Lois and Henry De Vries and Laurel and Rian Bremmer; in-laws: Char Kroll, Vern and Marcia Huber, Marilee and Al Brunsting, Henry Sluis, Marilyn and Tom Draves, Marcia and Dick Poelman and Jack and Jean Hoeksema.
Paul was preceded in death by his first wife Judi Kroll.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After his service to his country ended he was employed at the United States Defense Department until his retirement. Paul and his wife Barb are members of Fellowship Reformed Church in Hudsonville.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2016 at Fellowship Reformed Church, 6610 36th Ave., Hudsonville. Interment with military honors will be in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Gift of Life Michigan or The Salvation Army.
