A service will be held at noon on Wednesday at the Elgin Christian Church with James Kirby officiating. A concluding service and interment will follow at the Elgin Cemetery. Frinds may call for viewing on Tuesday from 4 to 7p.m. at Payne Family Mortuary.
Mr. Erickson was born on Jan 11 1947, at LaGrande to Milton and Lorrene (Horn) Erickson. On May 23 1970, he married Betty Lou Adams at the Elgin Christian Church.
He graduated from Elgin High School in 1966. He worked for Boise Cascade in Elgin for 25 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. He especially enjoyed his cattle.
He was a member of the Elgin Stampeders Riding Club for a number of years. He served as its president and was on its board of directors. He was also a member of the Total Quality Committee for BCC in Elgin and was an officer of Local 2910. He was a member of the Elgin FFA Booster Club and was an Elgin FFA Honorary Chapter Farmer.
Servivors include his wife Betty Lou; daughter Sheri Lou; a son Adam; his father Milton Erickson of Umatilla; mother and stepfather Loreene and Bill Volle of Elgin; brothers Randy of Reno, Nev., Ed of Irrigon, Tony of Elgin and nummerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
