Martha Elizabeth Garland Stout, age 64, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord unexpectedly on Monday, October 10, 2016 from her residence.
Martha was born in Elizabethton to the late Clarence Lee Garland and Ruth Odom Garland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Stout; one sister, Beverly Denise Garland; and one grandson, Kaden Garland.
Martha had worked in manufacturing North American Rayon Corporation for nine years and at American Water Heater and was a member of East Side Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, sister, and sister-in-law. She was an avid Tennessee Vols fan, enjoyed gardening and loved her dogs.
A service to honor the life of Martha Elizabeth Garland Stout will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Mr. Terry Richardson and Mr. James Richardson, ministers, officiating. Music will be provided by Richard Williams, soloist. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Thursday.
The graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Friday, October 14, 2016 in the Garland Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at 3:00 PM at Tetrick of Elizabethton, to go in procession.
