McRAE—At the residence of his son-in-law, Mr John Deegan, Eglinton Street, Winton, on Thursday, September 20, 1934, Murdoch, relict of Isabella McRae (late of Hokonui); aged 84 years. R.I.P. The funeral will leave the Catholic Church, Winton, on Saturday, 22nd inst., at 2 p.m. for the Winton Cemetery. Friends please accept this (the only) intimation.—W. D. McArthur, Undertaker.

The funeral of the late Mr Murdoch McRae, which took place at the Winton Cemetery on Saturday, was an exceptionally large one. The burial service was conducted by the Rev. Father O'Neill, while members of the Celtic Pipe Band piped a lament to the graveside. The late Mr McRae was wellknown by Highlanders throughout the length and breadth of the province, and was a noted scholar in the speech and literature of the Gaelic language. He was an ardent supporter and an expresident of the Browns Celtic Society, and his death removes one who was held in the highest esteem by the community.
