David Mack McInturff, 74, passed away on Oct. 2, 2016. He was born in Texas to the late Elmer and Ila McInturff. He is also preceded in death by his son, Kevin Todd; his brother, John; and his sister, Kay. David played sports at Sundown High School, became an Eagle Scout, and received a football scholarship to West Texas State University where he completed his BS in Physical Education. Upon graduation, David began a 27 year career in the USMC. After two and a half tours in Vietnam and receiving a Bronze Star and Silver Star, David proudly retired as a Lt. Colonel. Following his service, David continued to serve with the United States Joint Forces Command as a Military Analyst. David's hobbies included woodworking and collecting model trains. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of over 50 years, Bea McInturff; sons, David Keith and John Christopher McInturff; daughter, Leanne Schrecengost and fianc David; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at George Price Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the George Price Funeral Home Chapel. David will be laid to rest in Sundown, Texas, following the service.
