John was my Grandpa. He immigrated to the USA in 1900 and became a citizen in 1910. He was married to Laura Killian and they had two children, one of whom died at birth. He was an overseer at Shawsheen Mill in Lawrence. He loved to smoke his cigars and play the piano. He was very out-going and enjoyed people, parties, card games, and a good glass of whisky.
