Melville Norris Gamber, 81, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at the Carroll Hospital Center. Born Aug. 19, 1923, in Carroll County, Md., he was the son of the late Albert Otis and Helen Elizabeth Wiley Gamber. Mr. Gamber was a retired painter for the State of Maryland. He was a member of Flohrville United Methodist church. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. Surviving are his sister, Edith Leontine Spencer of Manchester, Md.; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters. Funeral service will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, Md., Tuesday at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
