Octavus appears of the Federal Rolls of Prisoners of War as Captured Rappahannock Station, Va Nov 7, 1863. Octavus was exchanged at Point Lookout , MD March 10, 1864. He was wounded and captured at Frederick, MD July 10, 1864 . He died Aug 2, 1864 at USA Gen Hospital Frederick, MD, age of 23. Though Octavus is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetary, he is listed on the marker in the family plot in Greenwood Cemetery 15 Rosemary Magnolia Hawthorne in New Orleans, LA.
