RETIRED FUNERAL DIRECTOR DIES AT DAVENPORT MONDAY
Nathaniel Myers Succumbs Following Long Illness

Nathaniel P. Myers retired Davenport funeral director, died there Monday at the age of 70 years. He had been ill for a long time.

Nat was born in Nicholas County, Kentucky, January 15, 1871, and departed this life at his home in Davenport, October 6, 1941, at the age of 70 years, 8 months, and 21 days.

Mr. Myers was married to Miss Elizabeth Reed at Paris, Ky., on January 16, 1901. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Elizabeth Crouch of Cimarron, New Mexico, and N.P. Myers, Jr. of McAlister.

Moving his family to Oklahoma in 1905, Mr. Myers came to Davenport in 1907. He has been a funeral director since 1912 and retired from business in May of this year. He has been in failing health since October of last year, but only confined to his bed since March of this year.

His prayer has been for months that he might die and thus be relieved of the suffering he underwent.

He always took an active part and interest in the welfare of his community.

Deceased leaves to mourn his going, his widow, Bettie, his daughter, Elizabeth, her husband, Harvey Crouch and little son, N.P. and his wife, Colene and little son, Ronald, and daughter, Joyce Ann, along with a host of more distant relatives and friends.
