Nathaniel Parker 1724-1811 was the son of John Parker 1700-1760 and his 1st wife Catherine (Pearson) Parker 1702-bef 1751 of Hampshire County, VA (now Mineral County, WV), daughter of Robert Pearson of Nottingham, Burlington County, N.J. Nathaniel Parker is listed among the heirs in his grandfather Robert Pearson's 1751 Nottingham, Burlington County, N.J. will. The 'Elizabeth Parker' listed in his father John Parker's 1760 Hampshire Co. VA will has been proven to be his step-mother. It is unknown where exactly he was born but a g-granddaughters family bible says Virginia and his father in 1749 settled on Patterson's Creek in Hampshire County, VA. (now Mineral Co. W.V.)

[The 1724 birth year and the 1811 death year are based upon the DeWitt Family Bible as transcribed in 'Tennessee Records: Bible Records and Marriage Bonds' By Jeanette Acklen, Genealogical Publishing Com 2009. Page 179-180. This bible belonged to Nancy Caroline (Parker) Hibbet, daughter of Thomas Parker 1768-1846 and granddaughter of Nathaniel Parker.]
After the death of Nathaniel Parker's 1st wife Elizabeth Scott (*), he migrated with most of his children from Hampshire County, VA. to Sumner County, TN. where in 1791 he married Mary Ramsey Bledsoe whom he divorced in 1802.

Nathaniel Parker signed his Will on the 25 Feb 1811 and his last known official act was to sell land to his son Thomas Parker 1768-1846 on 4 Jun 1811. The Inventory of his Estate was filed in Sumner County, TN court at the Mar 1812 term.

(*) The 1828 Francis Duffy & Pamelia A (Parker) Duffy family bible states "Thomas Parker was born 29th February A.D. 1768; he was the son of Nathaniel Parker and his wife Elizabeth". Susana Rogers wife of Thomas Parker was born 11th April 1773; she was the daughter of William Rogers and Sarah his wife. Susana was born in Hampshire County, Virginia

Elizabeth as the wife of Nathaniel Parker of Nathaniel Parker of Hampshire County, VA. & Sumner County, TN is reinforced by the 1851 letter of Ohio Supreme Court Justice Thomas Scott who stated:

"My father's sister Elizabeth, intermarried with Mr. Nathaniel Parker. He owned a beautiful well-kept cultivated farm and mills, two or three miles above the town of Frankfort on Patterson's creek, in Hampshire County, Virginia. He was a man of more than ordinary industry, economy and enterprise, and owned considerable wealth. My aunt had three daughters and seven sons by him, namely, Susannah, Elizabeth and Polly, John, Thomas, Richard, Aaron, Robert, Isaac and Nathaniel. Susannah (Parker) intermarried with Charles Beeler. More than sixty years since they removed and settled at Manslick a few miles from Louisville Kentucky. They had several children, but are both now deceased. Neither the names nor the places of their descendants are to me known. Elizabeth (Parker) intermarried with Col. Michael Collier and John (Parker) with Miss Sally Collier, grand-son and grand-daughter of old Col. Thomas Cresap. These two families many years since removed and settled in Shelby County, Kentucky. After the decease of my aunt, Mr. Parker with the residue of his sons and daughters, their families removed to the state of Tennessee, where he intermarried with the widow of Col. Bledsoe deceased, but report says they did not live happily together."
