Reverend Father Ramón F. Aragón, Diocesan Priest, age 92, born in Peña Blanca, NM, formally of Albuquerque, passed away at home in Peña Blanca on Sunday, October 2, 2016.
Father Ramón was ordained on June 3, 1950 and was stationed in many parishes within the Archdiocese of Santa Fé including, Our Lady of Guadalupe in Albuquerque and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Albuquerque as well as many other parishes throughout New Mexico.
Father Ramón is survived by his sister, Clarabelle Padilla, brothers, C. F. Lucero and his wife, Teresina, Phil Lucero and his wife, Bessie and Isaac Lucero and his wife, Bernadette, sister-in-law, Andrea Lucero, brother-in-law, Jimmy Aragón Sr., nephew and caregiver, Jimmy Aragón Jr., niece and caregiver, Darlene Sandoval and her husband, Gabriel, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, special friend, Jenaro Pedroncelli and his wife, Louella and a special thank you to Cathy Montoya for her kindness and care.
Father Ramón was preceded in death by his father, Ramón F. Aragón, mother, Claudia Ortiz-Lucero and step-father, Fermin Lucero Sr., sisters, Laura Aragón, JoAnn Narvaiz and Sylvia Lucero and brothers, Wilfred Lucero and Fermin Lucero Jr.
The last eight years of life, Father Ramón returned to Peña Blanca to live with his sister, Laura and brother-in-law, Jimmy Aragón. Father Ramón assisted with the Saturday Mass while he was still able.
Father Ramón was loved and will be dearly missed by many.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Archbishop John Wester, presider. Final visitation will be on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Peña Blanca from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 1:00 p.m. by Deacon Jim Delgado. Interment will follow at Peña Blanca Cemetery, Peña Blanca, NM. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Aragón Jr., Robert Padilla, Paul Lucero, Patrick Lucero. Martín Sandoval, Eric Lucero and Matthew Lucero. Honorary pallbearer will be Martín Sandoval Jr.
