The funeral was held Friday, Sept. 3, at Holman Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Isom Hill officiating. Burial followed in Midland City Cemetery with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Gayles was a native of Midland City and a resident of Ozark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garrett (Jack) Gayles, one daughter, Helen Jerkins Gumpenberger, and her parents, Bryant and Hettie Andrews.
Survivors include one son, Ronnie L. Jerkins of Lake Wales, Fla.; one sister, Florine Weed; one brother, Paul Andrews; five grandchildren; six great-grandchilldren; and one great-great-grandchild.
