Her parents, John and Mary Kelley moved from PEI to Maine when she was a young girl, according to an obituary. She and Henry married and lived in Cutler, Washington, Maine between 1840-1870 and moved to Blackinton, MA sometime in the 1870s. According to her obituary, in addition to raising her 14 children, she also adopted and cared for 2 others. Henry was a sailor while in Maine, but became a mill laborer in Adams, MA where he died in 1876. His obituary said he was run over by the evening train from Troy, and that "being quite deaf", probably didn't hear it approaching. Some of the family moved to Providence, RI. Catherine was living with her daughter, Elizabeth Feeley in Providence when she died of pneumonia.
