Ella Mae was born in Granville County to the late Arthur and Lector Smith Bailey on June 12, 1940. She grew up in Wake Forest and is preceded in death by her brother: William Leonard Bailey, Macon Bailey and sisters: Ozie Estelle Bailey, Lector Mae Piper, Essie Etta King and Ola Ree Williams.
