James (Jim) Harvey Burk, son of Harvey and Ammabelle (Cox) Burk was born January 13, 1944 in Aurora, MO and departed this life on October 2, 2016 at the age of 72 years , 9 months, and 19 days.
Jim was married to Joyce Stephens on February 22, 1964. Jim was a barber for 49 1/2 years in Reeds Spring, MO. He always said his customers were not just customers, they were his friends. Jim also owned a farm where he raised Charolais cattle. Jim was a wonderful husband and father. He coached both of his sons little league teams and enjoyed taking them hunting and camping. Jim was the best Papa a kid could ever have. He pitched about a 1000 baseball games in the front yard, gave many four wheeler and pony rides and built forts. Jim loved going to watch his grandkids play sports.
Jim was proceeded in death by his parents Harvey and Ammabelle Burk. He is survived by his wife Joyce; two sons, James Burk of Galena, and Jason Burk and wife Anita of Galena; four grandchildren, Justin Burk and wife Charlie, Brookelyn Burk, Jaymie Burk, and Luke Burk all of Galena; One brother, Jerry Burk and wife Charlotte of Galena; and a host of other relatives and life-long friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Stumpff Funeral home in Crane with Randy Harwood officiating. Burial will be in Crane Community Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home Crane, MO.
