Also surviving are daughters Joyce Runion and Donna L. Alexander; brothers Thomas Alexander and Ray Singleton; sisters Clara Duncan and Marie Head; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son Carroll Douglas Alexander Jr., brothers Ronald and David, and stepmother Virginia Gentry.
Served in the Army National Guard.
Mr. Alexander worked 24 years as a metal finisher for GM Truck & Bus, Indianapolis, seven years as a heavy equipment mechanic for Jerry Glass Construction, Glassgow, Ky., and four years for Greencastle Equipment & Tool Rental. He also farmed in Kentucky.
Funeral services 1pm Monday in Porter Funeral Home, North Salem with Rev. Don Perry officiating.
