Beth Wanlass Cook 1922 ~ 2005 Beth Wanlass Cook, 83, of Pleasant Grove, our loving sweetheart, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 18, 2005 to be reunited with her family.

She was born June 24, 1922 in American Fork to Samuel and Ruby Nina Wanlass. She grew up and attended schools in American Fork where she made many close friends that lasted her entire life. On November 20, 1940, she married the love of her life, Jack Cook of Pleasant Grove. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. During the war years, Beth sang with the Howard Nelson Orchestra. After Jacks return from World War II, they settled in Pleasant Grove where they have lived ever since. For 65 years they have been happily married even through the challenges they had to endure together after a head-on collision in 1973 that changed both of their lives. Beth maintained a beautiful yard and raised her three sons. She worked for more than 20 years at House of Fabrics in both Provo and Orem. Her greatest joys were her family, her yard, playing the piano, sewing and knitting. She was a classy selfless woman who always spoke kindly of everyone.

She is survived by her husband Jack Cook, her sons and daughters-in-law: Darrell (Karma) Cook, Pleasant Grove; Jim (Diane) Cook, St. George; Tom (Muriel) Cook, Highland; grandchildren: Tracy, Andrea, Tony, Sandra, Pamela, Janeen, Clint, and Jill; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Anne Andrews, American Fork and many loving nieces and nephews who have been a great support in her life.

She was preceded into the next life by her parents and siblings: Mildred Mecham, Sam Wanlass, and Darrell Wanlass all of American Fork.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Timpanogos Stake Center, 800 North 100 West, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
