From census records- in 1870 Marcus was a stock dealer in Pueblo, CO. in 1880 he and family appear in Fountain, CO.
In 1860, he was living in Elmwood, Otoe County, NE He served as a Corporal in the 2nd Nebraska Cavalry Co F. (Ancestry), enlisting on Oct 23, 1862. He mustered out of that company on 23 December 1863 as was noted for distinguished service. He may have also served with the 2nd Brigade. He filed for an invalid's pension in 1891 in Colorado, and his widow Mary L. filed for pension benefits in 1902.
