Carvel W. Hancock, 84, of Witty Lane, died at 11:03 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at his residence of natural causes.

Graveside services were Thursday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West in Hopkinsville with the Rev. James Cox officiating.

Hughart, Beard and Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Christian County, he was born June 26, 1932, the son of the late Truman W. and Vesta D. Bracey Hancock.

He was a member of Trinity Pentecostal Church. He was a cabinet maker and a builder. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Truman W. Hancock Jr. and Lynnwood Hancock; and his sisters, Christine Gilkey and Bonnie Sims.

Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Arvin Hancock; his daughters, Mary Lou (Leonard) Stewart and Donna (James) Simpson, both of Crofton, and Carol Bynum, Hopkinsville; his brother, Glenn (Irene) Hancock (Irene), Hopkinsville; his sister, Ethelene Stone, Hopkinsville; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, Tenn. 38101.
