MEYERS, Gary C. Age 71, a lifelong resident of Ross Township, passed away at his residence early Thursday morning, September 22, 2016. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Clarence and Nellie (Smith) Meyers. Gary attended Ross Local Schools and graduated from Ross High School in 1964. On July 31, 1965 at Ross Avenue Church of God in Hamilton he married Marilyn Engel. Gary was a lifetime farmer and started milking cows at the age of seven. As well as farming, he was also a member of the Millville Fire Department and EMS for 20 years, where he attained the rank of Assistant Chief. Gary worked for Ross Local Schools as a school bus driver for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Meyers, two children John (Michelle) Meyers, and Layne (Glen) Minges; three grandsons, Zachary, Branden, and Ryan; one sister, Joyce (Ralph) Schueler; also survived by other loving relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held at Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton Cleves Rd. Ross, OH, on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 10 AM until the time of service at 1 PM. Burial to follow in Millville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ross Township Fire Department PO Box 71 Ross, OH or the Reily Township Fire Department Large Animal Rescue, 6376 Peoria Reily Rd. Oxford, Ohio 45056.
