Francis Arthur McKee, 85, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, at the Cornerstone Hospital, a division of St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, after an extended illness. He was born Oct. 2, 1930, a son of the late William Arthur McKee and the late Betty Riffe McKee. He was a laborer for the former Ironton Malleable and attended the West Ironton Church of the Nazarene and was a loving father, brother and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Erma McKee; brothers, Gene, George, Calvin, Earl McKee, Ralph and Gilbert Wagoner; four sisters, Darline Rapp and Lacey Green, Rosalee Tordiff, Pauline Henderson; and four half brothers and three half sisters. He is survived by his five children, Thomas A McKee, Richard Stanley (Peggy) McKee, Kathy (John) Minard, Brian (Michelle) McKee, Micheal (Mariko) McKee; two brothers, Edward McKee, Richard (Sharon) McKee; two sisters, Harriet Williamson, Esther (Bob) Austin; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ryan McKee officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Woodland Cemetery in Ironton. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral chapel. The family has entrusted his care to Brown Funeral Chapel - Eugene Taylor-Brown Owner and Lic. Funeral Director.
