Raymond "Ray" Joseph Berard, age 88, passed away early on Saturday, February 20th 2021 at the Respite House in Colchester, Vt.
He was born on April 2nd 1932 in Shoreham, Vt., he was one of 12 children, the son of Ulric and Zepherine (Angers) Berard.
He was a graduate of Cathedral High School Class of 1950.
He married Jacqueline "Jackie" Alice Boise on September 28th 1957 in Bristol, Vermont. Together they had seven children; three daughters and four sons. She predeceased him on April 26th 2015.
Raymond was a man of strong faith and a lifelong church member. He was an active member of The Full Gospel Men’s Fellowship.
He was a Bookkeeper for several local businesses and Owned and Operated a few grocery stores.
Most recently, he had a Small Engine Repair Service until his passing.
He was President of Fish and Wildlife for many years and also Fire Warden for the Town of St. George, Vt.
He was an avid snowmobiler, fisherman and gardener who was known for growing delicious raspberries.
He was predeceased by his wife and parents, one son; Matthew Joseph Berard on May 21st 1971, one son-in-law; Lawrence Soodak, five brothers; Rene Joseph Berard on November 2nd 2012, John Paul Berard on April 14th 2006, Roland Joseph Berard on February 20th 2017, Laurent "Larry" Joseph Berard on January 8th 2021, and infant brother Joseph "Henry" Henri Berard on February 5th 1936, four sisters; Simone Marie (Berard) Parent on January 29th 2001, Marie (Berard) Rivers, Madeleine Anna (Berard) Peltier on December 13th 2013, and Ollivette (Berard) O’Brien on October 30th 2003, four brothers-in-law; Paul Emile Parent on April 24th 1991, Paul Rivers, Donald "Don" J. Peltier on February 22nd 2014, and William "Bill" P. O’Brien on January 28th 1963, and two sisters-in-law; June Adeline (Quinn) Berard on April 2nd 2016 and Clairette Elizabeth (Poquette) Berard on June 17th 2017.
