Mr. L. D. Mabe, age 85, a lifelong resident of the Cedar Creek Community, passed away Monday September 19, 2016 in White County, Tennessee.
L.D. was born February 11, 1931 in Cedar Creek, Tennessee to the late Luther Mabe and Randie England Mabe.
He was a farmer and an avid coon hunter. He was a hard worker and a man of his word. He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter
Mary Ellen Mabe; infant son Daniel Ray Mabe; brother Shelia Mabe.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years Mary Katherine Dilldine Mabe
Three children: Elizabeth Gail (Glenn) Cope, David Dee Mabe, Anita Kay (Billy) Elrod
Seven grandchildren - Angel Mabe, J.D. (Jessica) Mabe, Chris (Shannon) Elrod,
Elaina (Josh) Elrod, Cheyene Mabe, John Elrod, and Tapanga (Andrew) Elrod.
Seven great-grandchildren: Kat, Rose, Jessie, Gabe, Addie, Brooklyn and Mary;
A host of loving family also survive.
Services will be conducted from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Taylors Providence Cemetery. David Lee England and Philip Luna will officiate.
Roger Marsh, J.D. Mabe, Chris Elrod, John Elrod, Tony Young, and Rick Fuson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Josh Miller and Mitch Brady.
