He was a 1932 graduate of the Univesity of Nebraska with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He work as an engineer for Brockway Glass Company from 1940-1971 and retired as head of the engineering department. he worked for many years engineering and designing industrial furnaces and was a leading glass furnace designer. He patented several methods of producing glass and the designer of the first fully automatic batch plant.
He was Brockway's Man of the Year in 2002. he was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Ceramic Society and the American Institute of Mining Metallurgical Engineers.
He served for 45 years on the Brockway Municipal Water Authority, and the past director of the Authority. He was instrumental in starting the Brockway Area Ambulance Association. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 379 Free and Accepted Masons in Ridgway, PA where he served as past worshipful master in 1978. He received the Knight Templar Cross of Honor, which is given to one Mason per year in Brockway.
He supported the brockway Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed woodworking and raising showing horses.
He is surived by one son, James L. Robertson of Yucson, AZ; one daughter, Anna May Hunt of Leicester, NC; one brother, Darrell Roberstor of Casper, WY; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was also proceed in death by two brother, Paul and william; and three sisters, Euretta, Goldie and Lillian.
