Mrs. Sophia E. Hines

Mrs. Sophia E. Hines, who resided south of this city, passed away Saturday, May 7.
Sophia Lebo was born in McLean County, near Holder, where she resided until five years ago, when she removed to Fairbury. She was the daughter of Paul and Eliza Case Lebo and was born in 1841. Her father came in this country from France, settling in Ohio and later coming to McLean County by Wagon. Mrs. Hines was a member of the U. B. Church and was a woman of many noble traits of character. She is survived by the following children: Frank, Alvin, Harvey, John, William and one daughter, Effie. Also five grandchildren and a sister. Her husband died about ten years ago.
The funeral which was held Monday morning was largely attended. The pallbearers were William Hoover, Frank Hall, S. T. Tarr, W. D. Spence, E. S. Westervelt and Lee Worrick.

After her husband's death, the family moved to a farm in the Belle Prairie Township, Livingston County, Illinois area, where she would live until her death.
