Coffey was found dead in his apartment in Long Beach, Calif. Saturday after suffering an apparent heart attack.
A native of Crosbyton, he graduated from Crosbyton High School and then Texas Tech in 1947. He was a veteran of World War II, having served four years in the Air Force.
He moved to California in 1949 and operated dry cleaning plants since that time.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Irene Coffey of Crosbyton; and a sister, Mrs. Marguerite Jones of Redondo Beach, Calif.
