Born April 12, 1924, in Fulton, Ill., he was the son of the late Opt and Tina Kok Byland.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, a former minister and keyboard salesman, and a member of Westwood Reformed Church.
Survivors include his wife, Della Dean Byland, a native of Casey County; three sons, Jody Byland and Dr. Jeffrey Byland, both of Freemont, Mich., and Dr. James Byland of Brentwood, Tenn.; a stepdaugther, Kathryn McCreary of Lexington; three sisters, Nellie Kettler and Hattie Buykema, both of Morrison, Ill., and Sadie Huizenga of Comanche, Iowa; and eight grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Cemetery.
