Patrick Dillard "P D" Moyers was born on October 30, 1831 in Jefferson City, Jefferson County, Tennessee, and he was the son of George Alexander Moyers (1805–1882) and Martha Catherine (Nicholson) Moyers (1807–1887).


He married Martha Jane Campbell (1834–1925) on July 31, 1851 in Bledsoe County, Tennessee, and she was the daughter of Joseph Campbell and Martha Jane ( -- ) Campbell.


Living in Graysville, Rhea County, Tennessee, he was a jeweler, 79 years old and married when he passed away on December 30, 1910. Burial was in Lone Mountain Cemetery.
