Mrs. Roy Melton
Mrs. Roy (Edna) Melton, 72, of 352 Garfield, a resident here for 32 years, coming from Knoxville, Tenn., died Sunday after an extended illness.
Born Jan. 1, 1901 at Knoxville, she was a daughter of A. and Margaret (Hoseholder) Thomas. On July 2, 1920 at Knoxville, she was married to Roy H. Melton, who preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 1967.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and was employe for more than 15 years at the American Laundry and Dry Cleaning.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Edward (Dorothy) Kielpikowski, Mrs. Arthur (Doris) Blunk and Mrs. Roy (Marjorie) Barker, all of Valparaiso, Mrs. Kenneth B. (Naomi) Homan, Hobart, Mrs. Larry (Barbara) Bechler, San Pierre, and Mrs. Kenneth (Elsie) Scott, Baudette, Minn.; a brother Otto Thomas, Pensacola, Fla.; 19 granchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Ellen in 1922, two brothers and three sisters.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wetmore Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard H. Leffel of the Nazarene Church, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
