1) Shelly Wright,
2) Joseph "Jose" Wright,(1936-1992 - died in NY, NY) and
(3) Jorge Jesus Wright (1943-2009 - died in Miami, Fla)-- all born in Cuba.
It appears that Shelly first arrived from Cuba on July 10, 1959 -- 6 days after her husband, Gustavo Borrajo, had made the trip -- with her 2 children both flying under her passport, aboard Pan Am Flight 420; permanent address in Cuba: 162 # 317 Marianao, Habana, Cuba; She flew under the name of "Emilia E. Wright".
Then on July 17, 1961 on a Pan Am Flight 422 boarding in Havana Cuba. She listed her name at that time as Emilia Eduviges Wright y Muniz; Her permanent address in Cuba was listed as Calle 10, No. 352, Esq. 17/Vedado, Habana; and her US Address as Hotel Columbus, Miami, Florida; However, on that same flight was her son, Gustavo De Jesus Borrajo Wright, age 5 & her daughter, Carola De Jesus Borrajo, age 3.
It appears from property records that Shelly (Emelia) married Gustavo Borrajo some time in the 1950s probably in Cuba - exact time and location unknown. I know Gustavo died July 7, 1994 in Miami, Florida- but have not been able to locate his grave - or any of Shelly's siblings, parents or her son, Gustavo J. Borrajo, who died in Miami Florida in 1998.
I have been looking for my cousins for over 35 years and regret that my grandmother is not alive to know I am starting to find information about them nor that they were ever able to meet before they all died. However, my mother -- who will be 93 in August 2020 -- is still alive and would like to know more about her cousins.
If there are any descendants of this family still alive, I would dearly love to communicate with them.
Because my g-uncle, James A. Wright, went to Cuba--at a year currently unknown--this research has been a daunting task. The children wrote to their g-aunt in the mid 1950s asking for a sponsor to get them out of Cuba - but we never knew until now that THEY were successful - but don't know what happened to their parents - my great uncle James A. Wright and their mother Flora Muniz. My grandmother - who was born in 1910 in Florida, remembers "Uncle Jim" visiting her mother and her family once and I always promised her I would find his family.
If anyone has information on this family, I would be deeply appreciative.
