Mr. Clifton was born in Epps, LA. He played football for Fair Park High School in Shreveport, La. After graduating, he joined the Army for 4 years. After returning from active duty he joined the Shreveport Police Department in 1960. He married Anne Adams on December 19, 1964.

Mr. Clifton was a retired Major of the Shreveport Police Department and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was also a Shriner, Mason, and member of the Eastern Star. He was a deacon at Fairbanks Baptist Church.

After battling cancer for 8 years, Mr. Clifton passed away January 25, 2005.

He had three children: Larry B. Clifton, Jr., Larie Clifton Hamlett and her husband, Derald, and Howard Blain Clifton. He also leaves behind three grandchildren: Ian Clifton, Alexander Clifton, and Larry Edward Hamlett.
