Funeral Services for Mrs. Ester Allene (Spikes) Braddock Johnson, 59, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Mer Rouge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She is a retired X-ray technician from E. A. Conway Hospital. She played the piano and organ for many at New Friendship Baptist Church where she was a member.
Mrs. Ester Johnson is survived by her mother, Alice Hinton of Bastrop, LA; husband, James F. "Sonny" Johnson of Bastrop, LA; brother, Charles Spikes and wife Linda of Bastrop, LA; sister, Annie Cook and husband Ken of Collinston, LA; special aunt, Lodie Craig of Collinston, LA; special uncle, Jerry Spikes and wife Gloria of Bastrop, LA; special cousin, Vickie Reynolds; aunts, Dorothy Middlebrooks and husband Tincy and Ida Mae Spikes; niece, Elizabeth Hoskins; nephew, Bo Cook; nephew, Wesley Spikes; niece, Brittany Spikes; step-daughter, Selena Myers, and a host of family.
