As fashionable as she was bright, she was honored with the moniker of “Miss Style” and named Salutatorian of her graduating class at Wendell High School. A professional bookkeeper for over 50 years, Mrs. Phipps loved to work and stay active, volunteering at Hill Country Memorial Hospital after her retirement. She loved to read. She loved working in her garden. She gave great hugs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Ray, son, Clyde Earl, and daughter, Kathryn Nan. Memorial may be made to the American Library Association or the charity of choice.
