Obituary from Post Register (Idaho Falls, ID) Monday, April 10, 2000:
SUGAR CITY - Ray Sharp, 69, of Sugar City, Idaho, died April 8, 2000, at his home from a brief illness.
He was born March 17, 1931, in Lyman, Idaho, to Earl and Edith Briggs Sharp. He attended schools in Lyman and Rexburg. He served in the Army during the Korean War as a sergeant first class.
On May 15, 1951, he married Zenda Grover in Idaho Falls. He was in the auto body business for 45 years in Rexburg.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of Sugar City; two sons, Vardis Sharp (Barbara) of Rexburg and Travis Sharp (Alaina) of Sugar City; a daughter, Raylene Seymour of Idaho Falls; four brothers and one sister, Don Sharp (Velda) of Murray, Utah, Gayle Sharp (Sally) of Sandy, Utah, Verla Allen (Bob) and Ross Sharp (Leicia), both of Boise, and Blaine Sharp (Janice) of St. Anthony; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., both at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be in the Sutton Cemetery in Archer.
