It was in their small country church where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of 16. She attended Pinehill schools, and then graduated as Valedictorian from Olive High School where she met the love of her life, Stanley G. Dobbs. In August 1947, Polly and Stanley were married. They lived in Olive and Sapulpa until Stanley was hired at what is now Tinker AFB. In 1951, they moved to Midwest City, OK. They loved and raised their family in Midwest City and were long time active members of St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Polly loved her church and her church family. She was a longtime member of the Saints Sunday School, Walt Nessel Bible Study classes, Esther-Friendship Circles, and United Methodist Women. She implemented and was Chairman of the Care Ministry for many years and was active in the Prayer Group and Prayer Chain. She was honored to have been awarded her church's very first "Prayer Warrior" Monk Award, and later, the "Lifetime Achievement" award. She loved getting together with extended family and going on yearly brother/sister trips.
Polly was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley G. Dobbs; infant son, Glenn Ray Dobbs; and 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
She is survived by her devoted children Karen Solodon, Jeanne Hanson (David), and Keith Dobbs (Carol); sisters, Hazel Holeman and Lola Murphy; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and other family members who will miss her dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at St. Matthews United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
