SAN ANGELO ~~ Alice Marie Grimes, 91, of San Angelo passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be Saturday in Johnsons Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Young Houston and the Reverend Phil Weber officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Alice was born June 16, 1916 at Fairview Community in Mitchell County to David Harrison and Nettie Badgett Pace.
She married T. J. Grimes on December 2, 1932 in Colorado City, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1989.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her step-mother Velda Paul Pace, who raised her from the age of three years old, seven siblings and son-in-law James Burleson.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Virginia Burleson, Janie Malloy and husband Andy, all of San Angelo; sons, Donald Grimes and wife Faye of San Angelo and Thurman Grimes and wife Anne of Rendon, Texas; grandchildren, Nancy Mortenson, Glen Burleson, LeNell Scott, Bill Malloy, Rebecca Bloss, Bobby Gray, Donnie Gray, Mary Alice Herriges, Joe Edward Grimes and Thomas Grimes; 30 great-grandchildren, 15 great-greatgrandchildren, along with six special children that were dear to her heart.
