Obituary in The Shreveport Times September 11, 2016:


SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Troy Clifton Jackson, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Rose Neath Southside Chapel, with Rev. Matthew Long officiating. Interment will follow services in Mansfield, LA at Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Troy was a life-long resident of Shreveport, born on December 22, 1934 to William Ivy Jackson and Emma Philen Jackson and passed away peacefully at his home on September 9, 2016. He is a retired Captain of Shreveport Fire Department.


Troy was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Martha Carol Williams.


Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years, Sally Mahaffey Jackson; son, Dewey Neal Jackson and wife Donna; daughters, Sharon Pilkinton and husband Tommy; and Brenda Ashley; Grandchildren, Julia Ashby and husband Jeremy, Emma, Percy, Paige, Reagan, and Thomas; great grandchildren, Hagan, Aubrey, Jolie Carol; along with numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.


Honoring Troy as pallbearers will be Percy Ashley, Thomas Pilkinton, Jeremy Ashby, Ray Davis, Mark Mahaffey, Stacey Snead, Ricky Lee, and Dominic Verges. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Verges, Marshall Laffitte, Vance Shaver, Dale Blair, Benny Fruge, Bobby Fruge, Huey A. Lynch, and Shreveport Fire Department.


The family would like to send out a special Thank You to his caregivers and the personnel from Superior Hospice. In Lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Percy R. Johnson Burn Foundation or any charity of your choice.
