In 1926, Herschel Ellis Cochran married Clara Beth Dean in Houston, Harris County, Texas. They had one daughter, whom they named Herschel Dean Cochran who was born 28 Dec 1927 in Houston, Harris County, Texas.
Herschel was working as a salesman for a building supply company in Houston, Harris County, Texas in 1930. According to the 1940's Census, he lived in the Lufkin, Angelina County,Texas area in 1935. By 1940, Herschel and his family are back in the Houston, Harris County, Texas area and he worked for a company called Celotex Insulation. At the time of his death, Herschel still worked for Celotex Corporation, and lived in Houston. Herschel died in his home located at 7631 Glenview Drive, Houston, Texas. His cause of death was bilateral bronchogenic carcinoma, which he had battled for 17 months under the care of Dr. Lawrence W. Johnson, M.D. He was buried at Forest Park East Cemetery on 19 Aug 1975.
