Floyd Del Cochran, 78, beloved Daddy, Papa, Brother, Uncle and Friend of Krum, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 14, 1935 in Denton, Texas to Roland Cochran and Bertha Jewel Adams. He married Helen Yvonne Smelley Cochran in Marietta, Oklahoma on July 16, 1960. He was retired from Acme Brick as a forklift operator. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Sanger.
Visitation will be held at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton, Texas, on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Landmark Baptist Church, 314 Cherry St., Sanger, Texas. Burial will follow at Bolivar Cemetery.
Floyd is survived by five daughters; Francie "Cookie" Roberson and husband Fred of Sanger, TX, Bertha "Squickie" Gourley and husband Ron of Krum, TX, Donna Meek of Krum, TX, Lena Shockley and husband Ernest of Sanger, TX, and Laura Buris and husband Charles of Sanger, TX; sister Edna Earl Rose of Denton, TX; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers, Joe and Ray Cochran, one sister Peggy Russell and one son-in-law Teddy Meek. Pallbearers are Richard Healy, Adam McNatt, Bryon Peterson, Mack Rose, Michael Walsh and Daniel Cofer.
