Thaddeus served as a Torpedoman's Mate First Class, U.S.S. Spence (DD-512), U.S. Navy during World War II.


He resided in Hartford County, Connecticut prior to the war.


The U.S.S. Spence, along with the U.S.S. Hull (DD-350) and the U.S.S. Monaghan (DD-354) sank during Typhoon Cobra off the East Coast of the Philippines during the war.


Thaddeus was declared "Missing In Action" in this sinking.

Son of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Andrew Leschinski who resided in Hartford, Connecticut.


Only 24 crew members survived this sinking.
